Community Outreach

  • Good Shepherd Food Bank

Good Shepherd Food Bank was established in 1981 as a non-profit organization working to eliminate hunger in the state of Maine.

Through food donation programs, hard-working volunteer efforts, community outreach, and 600+ organizations located throughout the state, we have become a vital resource for those facing food insecurity.

  • Presente!

Presente! Maine is a grassroots, mutual aid organization by and for displaced and dispossessed Afro/Indigenous-Latines in Maine.

With our community, we codesign and implement survival programs that proactively address our most urgent public health, climate, and human rights struggles, while also working within systems of power to create a more equitable, joyful, and resilient future.

  • New Beginnings

Based in Lewiston, New Beginnings has program sites for adolescents and young adults from across Maine who don’t have stable family support.

Our services are designed to prevent young people from becoming homeless, support struggling families, help youth get off the streets, and provide an essential “safety net” for young people in Maine who are at risk of homelessness.
